Driver arrested after car hits and kills child
In Ghaziabad, a six-year-old boy named Ansh Singh was killed by a car while playing outside his home in Khoda. The incident occurred on Thursday evening around 6 PM. The car's driver, who fled the scene, was arrested the following day. CCTV footage shows Ansh sitting in the road when a white Tata Tiago turned a corner and struck him. The boy suffered serious injuries, as the car crushed his throat and stomach. His family, who was nearby at a religious event, rushed him to a local hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at another facility in Noida. The boy's father, Ram Bahadur Singh, filed a police report after the accident. He described how the driver did not stop to assist Ansh before speeding away. Police identified the driver as 30-year-old Vikas Singh. They used the car's registration from the footage to locate him and his vehicle. According to police, the driver claimed he did not see Ansh due to a raised portion of the street. After realizing what had happened, he became frightened and fled. Authorities have charged him with causing death by negligence and reckless driving. The family plans to hold final rites for Ansh in their hometown.
