Driver arrested in Texas crash; passenger killed

A driver is facing arrest after a crash on Interstate 30 in Grand Prairie, Texas, resulted in the death of a passenger. The accident happened early Sunday morning around 5:05 a.m., as police reported. According to officials, a Dodge truck pulling a utility trailer was parked on the shoulder of the highway. A car then collided with the trailer from behind. The passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The driver of the truck was not injured in the incident. Police suspect that the car's driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash. They will be charged with intoxication manslaughter once released from the hospital.
