Driver cited for dumping pizza boxes in Pepper Pike
A driver in Pepper Pike, Ohio, has been cited for illegal dumping after police discovered a large pile of trash along Old Brainard Road on March 18. The pile included at least 15 pizza boxes and various fast-food wrappers. Authorities found personal information, including phone numbers, linked to a Cleveland Heights man, 40, who admitted to the littering. He explained he intended to clean his car but forgot bags for the trash. He was cited in both Pepper Pike and Moreland Hills for similar offenses. In other news, police in Pepper Pike responded to multiple reports of attempted break-ins to cars on March 13. Security video led them to identify a suspect, a 33-year-old woman from Cleveland Heights. Her stolen credit card had been used at several stores. Officers arrested her after executing a search warrant at a local hotel on March 20. Charges may also be filed against another woman, 27, connected to the incidents. On March 14, first responders dealt with an open burning violation on Cedar Road. An 83-year-old resident was trying to burn a box in his backyard, which led to a brush fire. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and cited the man for the open burn. On March 16, police and medics were called to a home where a 34-year-old woman had a seizure after using alcohol and cocaine. She was taken to the hospital, and a bag containing white residue was handed over to police. No further investigation is expected. Finally, on March 19, police returned to a home where they had previously dealt with an issue regarding an 18-year-old son who kicked in the front door. This time, the mother reported he set off an alarm. Officers referred the matter to the city prosecutor for review. The son was still at the scene when police arrived.
