Driver shot after attempted car break-in in Oakland

A 25-year-old man was shot in Oakland on Thursday night while trying to escape an attempted car break-in. The incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. in West Oakland. The man, from San Francisco, had been parked and visiting a friend when a stranger tried to break into his car by smashing a rear window. He quickly drove away, but the suspect ran across the street to another man, who then fired at the fleeing vehicle. The driver was hit in the arm but managed to drive himself to a hospital. He is now in stable condition, according to authorities. As of now, no arrests have been made and no information about the suspects has been released.
