Drone footage captures rare crocodile cannibalism in Australia
A group of fishers in Australia captured drone footage of a large crocodile eating another crocodile at Corroboree Billabong on November 24. The fishers initially thought the dead animal was a cow but were shocked to discover it was a massive male croc. The crocodile was seen dragging its meal for about 200 meters, showcasing its size. This behavior, known as cannibalism, is rare but not unheard of among crocodiles, particularly in the case of larger ones preying on smaller or injured individuals. Cannibalism among crocodiles can help regulate their populations. Incidents like this attract attention due to their dramatic nature, highlighting the natural predatory behavior within their ecosystem.
