Drug distribution resumes at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital
The distribution of drugs and surgical supplies to the fair price shop at the Government Medical College Hospital in Kozhikode has resumed. This comes after the All-Kerala Chemists and Druggists Association (AKCDA) ended their strike on March 24. The strike lasted over two months and began on January 10. It was initiated because the suppliers had not received payments since April 2024. A meeting between hospital officials and AKCDA representatives led to the decision to end the strike. Hospital authorities have promised to pay the outstanding amounts for the last two months. AKCDA officials stated that they chose to withdraw the strike to alleviate the difficulties faced by the public. Although payments for April and two weeks of May 2024 were made in January, the strike continued until now.
