Drunk man assaults shopkeeper, attempts to shoot him

A man in Ludhiana was arrested for attacking a shopkeeper and attempting to shoot him while inebriated. The incident happened on Saturday night in Manngarh village. The accused, Kulwinder Singh, 58, hit a boulder with his car while driving home. He blamed the shopkeeper, Arun Singh, 35, for the boulder being there, leading to a heated argument with verbal abuse. Witnesses saw Kulwinder become violent and attack Arun with a sharp weapon. They intervened and managed to take the weapon away from him. Kulwinder then pulled out a licensed .32-bore pistol and tried to shoot Arun, but the gun malfunctioned. Police were called to the scene. They found Kulwinder to be intoxicated, and he was taken into custody. Authorities reported that they will cancel his arms license and have charged him with several offenses, including endangering safety and criminal intimidation.
