DTCP to revoke occupancy certificates for 745 DLF houses

The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) in Haryana plans to revoke occupancy certificates for 745 houses in DLF phases one, two, and three. This decision follows a directive from the Punjab and Haryana High Court regarding violations of building norms. DTCP officials stated that they had issued show cause and restoration notices to homeowners. These notices were given because the owners failed to make necessary corrections or remove the violations. The department confirmed that the violations are serious and cannot be resolved by simply paying a fine. Amit Madholia, the district town planner, explained that the recommended revocation of the occupancy certificates means the houses will be considered uninhabitable. He added that essential services like electricity, water, and sewage will be disconnected soon. The DTCP had surveyed around 15,000 homes in the DLF area under court orders. They identified violations in about 4,500 of these houses. After completing all legal procedures and prior notices, the department is now ready to take action.
