Dubai launches digital birth certificate service online
Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has introduced a new digital service for issuing birth certificates. This service aims to make the process easier and more efficient for residents. With this initiative, parents can now receive an official birth certificate without needing to go to a customer service center. The process starts when hospitals in Dubai send a birth notification and necessary documents electronically. Parents can then apply through the DHA's website, choose how many copies they need, and pay online. The service is available in three languages: Arabic, English, and Urdu. Birth certificates will be issued within one working day. They can be sent via email or mobile, and parents can also request printed copies through a courier service. For unique cases, in-person support is still available at DHA’s Customer Happiness Centre. Dr. Ramadan Al Blooshi, from DHA, said the new service aims to improve customer experience and reduce administrative burdens. He emphasized the service's importance in supporting digital transformation and enhancing service delivery in Dubai. The new system also makes it simpler to request additional copies or replacements for lost certificates. If a certificate is lost, a police report must be provided. Payment methods include electronic transactions, credit cards, and bank transfers. DHA encourages residents to use this digital service, which promotes efficiency and accuracy. For further help, they have set up a toll-free number, 800 DHA, where people can get guidance on the application process and other related inquiries.
