Dubai man charged with harassing Hyderabad woman

A man based in Dubai has been charged with sexually harassing and blackmailing a 38-year-old woman from Hyderabad. The police have recorded the case following the woman's complaint. She had previously worked as a dancer at a pub in Dubai, where she met the accused, Naushad Aboobakar, in 2018. The woman moved back to Hyderabad in 2020, while Aboobakar remains in Dubai. The police say that Aboobakar has been threatening to share her photographs with her family and friends unless she agrees to marry him. He has also pressured her to leave her husband. Their acquaintance began when the woman worked in Dubai, and Aboobakar offered her help at her job. She later returned to Dubai in September 2019 where Aboobakar allegedly took her pictures and videos without her consent. After returning to Hyderabad, he started blackmailing her, demanding she come back to Dubai. In response to his threats, she traveled to Dubai to confront him. During that visit, she managed to make him delete the photos and videos before returning to Hyderabad. However, after a few months, Aboobakar came to Hyderabad and continued to harass her, leading her to file a formal complaint with the police. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
