Dubai offers free Iftar to taxi and tour bus drivers
The Dubai Gold Souk Extension has launched a new initiative called the "Souk of Giving" to support local taxi and tour bus drivers during Ramadan. This program aims to honor these drivers, who play an important role in transporting people around the city. Every evening during Ramadan, taxi and tour bus drivers can visit the information desk at the Dubai Gold Souk Extension to pick up complimentary Iftar packages. To receive their meal, drivers need to show valid RTA or official tour operator IDs. This initiative not only provides meals but also reflects the spirit of generosity and hospitality that is central to Ramadan. On the first day of the program, more than 100 drivers participated, highlighting its warm reception. Rashid Al Harmoodi, a senior director at Ithra Dubai, praised the initiative for promoting community values and collaboration during the holy month. He emphasized the importance of kindness and shared responsibility in building a strong and united society in the UAE.
