Dushyant criticizes Haryana, Punjab, central governments' inaction
Dushyant Chautala, the former deputy chief minister of Haryana, criticized the state governments of Haryana, Punjab, and the central government for failing to support farmers. He stated that instead of meeting farmers’ needs, the governments were forcefully removing them from protest sites and wasting their resources. While speaking to reporters in Jind, Dushyant pointed out a contradiction in the claims made by Haryana's chief minister, Nayab Singh Saini. The chief minister says he will purchase 24 crops at the minimum support price (MSP), but the central government only talks about 23. He argued that the Haryana government falsely includes underperforming crops in the MSP category while real procurement efforts have stalled for several days. He also criticized the government for inadequate wheat procurement efforts, stating that even after four rounds of discussions, tenders for labor and transport remain unaddressed. Dushyant remarked that the public is paying close attention to the assembly budget session but noted that the budget lacked new initiatives or funding for existing programs. Furthermore, he assessed the condition of the Congress party as poor, arguing that it has failed to appoint a leader of the opposition in Haryana. He attributed this failure to the influence of a few individuals within the party, which he believes demonstrates a lack of control over its members. Dushyant mentioned his own party, the JJP, is working on expanding its organizational structure and will conduct discussions with workers throughout the districts. A membership drive for the party is also planned for April and May.
