DVC invests Rs 1,500 crore to modernise power supply
Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has announced a Rs 1,500 crore project to modernise power supply in West Bengal and Jharkhand. The initiative aims to improve the distribution network using advanced technologies, with completion expected in 18 months. The project will replace traditional power distribution with a technology-driven system, focusing on reducing losses and ensuring reliable power for industries. Key features include unmanned substations and automated management systems. DVC plans to deploy 12 new E-houses and several substations in the first phase. Two advanced control centres will manage the network, allowing customers to connect and disconnect services via a mobile app.
