Early detection and prevention of tuberculosis essential
Mysuru: Dr. K Sumana, an associate professor at JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, spoke on the importance of early tuberculosis (TB) detection during an awareness program for World Tuberculosis Day. The event took place at JSS College for Women. Dr. Sumana emphasized early diagnosis and understanding how TB spreads, along with its symptoms and treatment options. She highlighted this year's theme, "Yes! We Can End TB: Commit, Invest, Deliver." Dr. Rechanna, the college principal, stressed that TB is an infectious disease. He urged people to get tested immediately if they notice symptoms. Following the doctor's advice for treatment is crucial, he added. Preventive measures are essential to stop the spread of TB, he said. Dr. Rechanna called on everyone to work together with the government to help create a tuberculosis-free nation. The head of the department, Abhijith M Singh, also attended the program.
