Exposing children to peanuts from infancy to age five reduced peanut allergy in adolescence by 71%. Early peanut consumption could prevent over 100,000 new cases of peanut allergy annually worldwide. The LEAP-Trio Study, sponsored by the US NIAID, showed a 71% reduced risk of peanut allergy in adolescents who consumed peanuts early. Introducing peanuts as early as four months is a safe and effective intervention.
