Early voting surges as key numbers emerge for US Elections 2024
The 2024 U.S. elections are approaching, with over 44 million early ballots already cast. Key races include the presidential contest between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, as well as elections for all 435 House seats and 33 Senate seats. Voters in seven swing states—Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin—are crucial for determining the election outcome. The Electoral College will formally elect the president on December 17, with Maine and Nebraska using a different voting method. In addition to federal elections, 11 states and two territories will elect governors. Early voting aims to boost participation, with turnout in recent elections averaging around 60 percent. The 2020 election saw a record turnout of 66.6 percent.
