EA's Star Wars tactics game revealed in April 2025

A new Star Wars turn-based tactics game will be revealed at Star Wars Celebration 2025. The announcement was made by EA, confirming the game is developed by Bit Reactor. This studio is made up of veterans from Firaxis Games, known for the XCOM series. The first look at the game will take place on April 19. A live panel will feature the lead development team from Bit Reactor, along with members from Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games. However, details about the game's setting and gameplay are still unclear. Fans can expect gameplay similar to XCOM, enhanced with the Star Wars theme. In addition to this new game, Respawn is also working on the third installment of the Star Wars Jedi series. However, there are no hints that it will be shown at this year's celebration. There has been recent turmoil at Respawn, with the cancellation of other projects, including an untitled first-person shooter. This came during a major overhaul at EA, resulting in significant job losses. At Star Wars Celebration, there will also be previews of upcoming projects. This includes a film about The Mandalorian and Grogu, set to be released in May 2026, and Star Wars: Visions Volume 3.
