Easton's future includes a Larry Holmes museum and housing
Easton Mayor Sal Panto Jr. reported significant financial improvements in his annual State of the City address. The city has moved from a $4 million deficit in 2008 to over $8 million in reserves, largely due to tourism growth. New initiatives include a Larry Holmes Hall of Fame and a focus on affordable housing, with $4 million allocated for housing projects. The city is also investing in parks and plans to build a new community center in the West Ward. Panto acknowledged rising homelessness and announced support for Safe Harbor to provide shelter. He highlighted public safety enhancements, including a new Bearcat vehicle for the police and upgrades to fire facilities.
