Edwin Tong defends interactions with residents in Marine Terrace
Minister Edwin Tong responded to a viral video showing his interaction with residents during a walkabout at a coffee shop in Marine Terrace. The video showed some residents appearing unfriendly, with one person making a rude gesture. Tong explained that, despite these reactions, he feels it is important to engage with all citizens as part of his role as a Member of Parliament. He clarified that the video was taken out of context. According to Tong, the coffee shop owner mentioned this in a Facebook post. He suggested that the video was used to promote a certain agenda against him. In other news, Singapore Democratic Party leader Chee Soon Juan announced he will run in the new Sembawang West Single Member Constituency (SMC). This SMC was created from parts of the Sembawang Group Representation Constituency (GRC).
