Eight killed in Balochistan terrorist attacks

At least eight people were killed in Balochistan due to a wave of terrorist attacks. Four of the victims were police officers while the other four were labourers. These incidents occurred in Kalat and Noshki districts. In Kalat, militants opened fire in the Malangzai area, targeting four labourers who were working as borewell drillers. The victims were from Sadiqabad in Punjab. Local authorities took the bodies to a medical center for legal formalities. President Asif Ali Zardari expressed deep sorrow about the killings. He called for strong action against those attacking innocent workers. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also voiced his condolences to the families of the victims, stating that his government will work tirelessly to combat terrorism. In a separate attack in Noshki, four police officers were shot while on patrol. Authorities condemned these violent acts and promised to pursue justice for the victims. Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti assured that the blood of the innocent would not go unavenged. Balochistan has recently seen a rise in violence, including a tragic incident last week where militants targeted a paramilitary convoy, killing five people. The security situation has been deteriorating, with significant increases in attacks and casualties across the region. In January 2025 alone, terrorist activities increased by 42% compared to December, resulting in many deaths among both security personnel and civilians. Balochistan has been particularly affected, with numerous militant attacks leading to loss of life and heightened tensions.
