Eighth Avenue in Longmont closed for two weeks
Eighth Avenue in Longmont will be closed for about two weeks, starting Wednesday. The closure is east of the intersection at Coffman Street. It will affect only a short stretch, about 100 feet. The city is making improvements to the intersection. New concrete will be installed, and paving is part of the Coffman Street mobility improvements project. This means no through traffic will be allowed at the intersection during the closure. Vehicles leaving the Eighth Avenue Park-n-Ride can only turn right onto southbound Coffman Street. Southbound traffic on Coffman Street cannot turn left onto Eighth Avenue. However, drivers can turn onto Eighth Avenue from Main Street and head west. They will need to turn around to exit back onto Main Street or use the alley between Main Street and Coffman Street. Two parking spaces on the north side of Eighth Avenue will also be closed. Access to businesses on Eighth Avenue east of Coffman Street will remain available from Main Street and the alley. For updates, people can check the Coffman Street mobility improvements project webpage.
