El Chapo's wife launches shapewear line in fashion
Emma Coronel Aispuro, known as the wife of imprisoned drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzmán, has launched a shapewear line. She partnered with influencer Graciela Montes to promote the new line, named "ThreeFourSeven," to Montes' 1.7 million followers on Instagram. The shapewear is designed to provide "compression, comfort, and support," according to Aispuro. She has emphasized that these products aim to be more comfortable than traditional girdles. Aispuro's venture comes after serving three years in prison for her involvement in her husband’s drug operation. Aispuro was convicted in 2021 and was released just two years ago. Since then, she has become a public figure, appearing on magazine covers and participating in fashion events like Milan Fashion Week. She has a background in the cartel, being the niece of a famous drug lord. Aispuro married Guzmán when she was 18 and he was 50, and they have twin daughters together. She was seen as a key member of his drug cartel, despite Guzmán's suspicions about her loyalty. While she received a relatively light sentence, her husband is serving life plus 30 years in a high-security prison. After her fashion debut, Aispuro shared a message about pursuing dreams and starting over. However, not all social media users are supportive. Some commenters on her posts question her motives and believe she should still be in prison.
