Elderly pedestrian hospitalized after bus accident in Punggol

An 82-year-old man was hospitalized after being hit by a bus in Punggol on March 19. The accident happened at about 4 p.m. at the intersection of Sumang Walk and Sumang Link, according to the police. The bus driver, a 53-year-old man, is currently helping with the police investigation. The elderly pedestrian was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for treatment. A video shared on Facebook shows a green bus, service 382G, stopped at the junction. In the video, two people are seen kneeling beside an individual lying on the ground, sheltered by umbrellas. The bus service is operated by Go-Ahead Singapore. A company spokesperson stated that the driver has been taken off duty during the investigation. They also mentioned that they are trying to contact the pedestrian's family to offer support.
