Elderly woman in Wexford scammed by fake surveyor
Police in New Ross are warning the public after an elderly woman was scammed in her home. The incident took place on March 8. A man pretending to be a surveyor visited the woman, who is in her mid-80s. He convinced her that he needed to take photos of her money for a valid reason. Believing him, she handed over her cash. The suspect then fled with hundreds of euros. The man is described as having dark, short hair. Police are actively investigating the case and are looking into CCTV footage.
