Eleven arrested for attempting to engage minors in sex
Eleven people have been arrested in Stanislaus County for trying to contact minors for sex. This follows a sting operation where law enforcement posed as children online. The operation involved fake profiles of children as young as 13. Some suspects sent explicit photos to these profiles. When they arranged to meet with what they thought was a child, police arrested them at the meeting spot. The charges against the suspects include lewd conduct with a minor, attempting to meet a minor for sex, and sending harmful material to a minor. Their actions also involved manufacturing or possessing child pornography. The sting was conducted by several law enforcement agencies, including the Sacramento Regional Human Trafficking Task Force and the Turlock Police Department.
