Eleven arrested for illegal IPL ticket sales

City police have arrested 11 people for selling Indian Premier League (IPL) tickets at high prices on the black market. The arrests took place during a match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians at MA Chidambaram stadium in Chepauk. Police monitored the area around the stadium after the City Police Commissioner, A. Arun, ordered action against ticket scalping. In Triplicane, they registered four cases and arrested nine individuals, including two from Telangana, Manikandan (29) and Chandrasekar (27). The police confiscated 20 tickets from them. In a separate case, two more individuals were arrested by Egmore police for illegally selling tickets as well. The police are continuing their efforts to crack down on black market ticket sales.
