Saudi authorities have closed 11 facilities in Mecca and Medina for violating health rules during Ramadan. Inspections by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority revealed 636 violations across 1,480 locations, including unlicensed operations and lack of health certificates for workers. Since mid-Shaaban, inspectors have checked 1,891 facilities and seized 1,226 tonnes of non-compliant products. The inspections aim to ensure safety and health standards as the number of pilgrims and visitors increases during Ramadan and the upcoming Hajj season.
