ElevenLabs has acquired the team behind Omnivore, an open-source read-it-later app. Co-founders Jackson Harper and Hongbu Wu stated that this move will enhance their ability to create engaging reading experiences while keeping Omnivore's codebase open-source. Omnivore users can export their data until November 16, after which it will be deleted. The team will focus on developing ElevenReader, ElevenLabs' own reader app, which allows users to listen to articles and books using AI-generated voices. ElevenLabs, valued at $1 billion after recent funding, specializes in AI tools for synthetic voice generation. The company is reportedly in talks for additional funding that could increase its valuation to $3 billion.
