Elon Musk expands lawsuit against OpenAI to include Microsoft antitrust claims
Elon Musk has amended his lawsuit against OpenAI to include antitrust claims against Microsoft. The updated complaint, filed on Thursday, accuses both companies of trying to monopolize the generative AI market and names Microsoft executives as defendants. Musk's lawyers allege that former OpenAI CEO Sam Altman engaged in self-dealing, creating a "de facto merger" with Microsoft. The lawsuit claims that the two companies are sharing sensitive information to eliminate competition and discourage investment in rival firms, including Musk's xAI. Musk co-founded OpenAI in 2015 but left in 2018. His previous lawsuit accused OpenAI of straying from its mission to benefit humanity due to its partnership with Microsoft. Both OpenAI and Microsoft have been contacted for comments on the latest amendments.
