Elon Musk targets Skadden Arps over D'Souza litigation
Elon Musk has joined former President Donald Trump in criticizing a major law firm, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. This comes after conservative commentator Dinesh D'Souza claimed the firm is working against him in a legal matter involving his film "2000 Mules." D'Souza, who was pardoned by Trump, stated that Skadden Arps has a large team of attorneys working pro bono to undermine him. He expressed concern that the left is using extended legal battles to harm political opponents. Musk responded to D'Souza's claims by declaring that "this needs to stop now," urging action against the firm. A popular Trump supporter, AwakenedOutlaw, echoed Musk's sentiments, suggesting that people should investigate everyone at Skadden. Legal analyst Anna Bower highlighted Musk's involvement in these accusations against the firm. In recent weeks, Trump has also been critical of Judge James Boasberg, pushing back against a ruling he found unfavorable. Trump shared a post from social media that misunderstood Boasberg's comments about legal penalties for the January 6 Capitol riot. A legal reporter pointed out that the interpretation of Boasberg's remarks was incorrect. Additionally, tensions rose between Texas politicians and Musk. Attorney General Pam Bondi defended Musk against comments made by Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett. Crockett clarified that she does not condone violence but criticized Musk's business practices, particularly his impact on Social Security. Representative Greg Casar fact-checked a Fox News host over Republican views on Social Security. He claimed that Musk and Trump are attempting to cut Social Security benefits while supporting tax breaks for billionaires. Casar emphasized that protecting Social Security should be a priority.
