Elton John and Brandi Carlile perform on SNL
Elton John and Brandi Carlile will perform together on an upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Jack Black. This appearance is set for April 5, just one day after the release of their joint album "Who Believes In Angels?", which will launch on April 4. Elton John has previously performed on SNL three times, including a hosting role in 2011. Jack Black last hosted the show in 2005 and is now promoting his new film, A Minecraft Movie. In addition to this episode, SNL has announced more hosts and musical guests. Mikey Madison, known for her role in the Oscar-winning film Anora, will host on March 29 with Morgan Wallen as the musical guest. Jon Hamm, famous for his role in Mad Men, will host on April 12, with Lizzo performing. The new album by John and Carlile includes contributions from famous musicians like Chad Smith from Red Hot Chili Peppers and Josh Klinghoffer from Pearl Jam. It also features the Oscar-nominated song "Never Too Late," made for a Disney+ documentary. Before their SNL appearance, John and Carlile will perform at a special concert in London on March 26. This concert will be filmed for a CBS special and will include stories about their friendship and collaboration over the last 20 years. Elton John recently shared his thoughts on reality shows like The X Factor and American Idol, calling them "the worst" for new artists. He advised young musicians to perform in smaller venues instead.
