Elton John recalls 1974 concert incident when hash pipe was thrown at him
Elton John has shared a story from his new memoir about an incident in 1974 when a hash pipe was thrown at him during a concert in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was knocked unconscious and his band initially thought he had been shot. John described how the metal pipe hit him on the head, causing bleeding and leading to confusion among his band members. His bodyguard helped him off stage, where he received medical attention while still in his performance outfit. Since that incident, John has performed in Greensboro twice more. Recently, he has discussed his health challenges, including a severe eye infection and multiple surgeries, but he remains optimistic about his life and upcoming projects.
