Emdoor's xCaim laptop features innovative AI technology
A little-known Chinese company, Emdoor Digital Technology, has unveiled a new type of business laptop called the xCaim. This innovative design recently won the iF Design Award for 2025. The xCaim laptop stands out because it features an edge-to-edge keyboard and replaces the traditional touchpad with an interactive palm rest. This new design aims to improve user experience by allowing a more engaging interaction. One unique feature is the detachable webcam, which can be magnetically attached above the screen. This webcam can also act as a secondary display, showing shortcuts and notifications when removed. The laptop is equipped with a Samsung V-NAND SSD 980, offering storage options from 250GB to 1TB. The xCaim has thin bezels and a sleek design with a white and black color scheme. It includes a touch-sensitive function area instead of regular function keys. Additionally, a small display near the keyboard shows system status and call information. Connectivity is limited, with only three USB-C ports. The laptop is not yet for sale, but it offers a sneak peek into a future where laptop designs embrace new technology and interactive features. The iF Design Award is a prestigious recognition in the design world, with 11,000 entries this year from 66 countries, showcasing the best in design innovation.
