Emergency lane closure tonight on southbound I-83
Emergency pavement repairs will take place tonight on southbound Interstate 83 in York County. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will begin work at 7 p.m. on March 19. The right lane will be closed at Exit 36, which serves Fishing Creek and Route 262. This lane restriction is expected to last until 6 a.m. on March 20, weather permitting. Repairs will be made to the pavement between the off-ramp and on-ramp at that exit. Although the right travel lane will be closed, the ramps will remain open for drivers. Travelers are advised to drive carefully through the work zone. JD Eckman, Inc. is the contractor handling these repairs. Motorists can check traffic conditions and get updates through www.511PA.com.
