Engineer arrested for dragging scooter under speeding SUV

Lucknow: An engineer was arrested for reckless driving after his SUV dragged a scooter along Shaheed Path. The incident injured the rider, Manish Singh. A video of the event has gone viral, leading to swift police action. The driver, identified as Brijesh Kumar Singh, is 55 years old and from Varanasi. He works at a battery factory in Ghaziabad. Police have charged him under Section 151 for serious negligence, which could have caused a major accident. The incident occurred on Sunday night around 9 pm. Manish Singh and his friends were riding on their scooter when the SUV struck them from behind. Singh filed a complaint, prompting the Sushant Golf City police to open an investigation on Monday.
