EoS Organization supports Philippines' nuclear energy workforce development

EoS Organization, a US-based energy firm, is helping develop nuclear energy in the Philippines. They are focusing on research, education, and training for future workers in this sector. On Friday, EoS signed agreements with Fulbright Philippines and Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) in Makati City. The goal is to train Filipino nuclear professionals and enhance educational programs in nuclear engineering. The collaboration with Fulbright includes establishing fellowships and training programs in nuclear energy. They will also create exchange programs for Filipino students to study at U.S. institutions. EoS plans to invest up to $400,000 to boost nuclear expertise in the country. EoS’s partnership with MSU-IIT aims to improve the academic and research capabilities in nuclear engineering. They will develop specialized curricula to prepare students for careers in the nuclear sector. US Ambassador MaryKay Carlson commented that these agreements are a result of the "123 Agreement," signed in November 2023. This agreement allows the US to export nuclear technology and supports civil nuclear investments in the Philippines. Carlson emphasized that building a civil nuclear industry depends on a skilled workforce that can safely operate and maintain the technology. The partnerships aim to strengthen the local workforce and ensure a clean energy future for the Philippines.
