Equatorial Guinea detains former official over leaked sex tapes of prominent figures

Baltasar Engonga, the former Director-General of Equatorial Guinea's National Financial Investigation Agency, has been imprisoned for recording over 400 sex tapes involving the wives of prominent figures. He was arrested amid fraud allegations and transferred to Malabo’s Black Beach Prison. Engonga was handcuffed and chained during a court appearance on November 8. His arrest has led to the suspension of several officials, as the government emphasizes its commitment to ethical governance. The tapes were discovered during a search of Engonga's home and office. Vice President Teodoro Mangue has ordered measures to block the circulation of the videos and enhance surveillance in government offices.
