Equipment torched in Hazaribag; three suspects arrested

In Hazaribag, a group linked to the banned TPC left-wing organization set fire to machinery worth ₹3 crore at the CCL Urimari coal project. The incident took place in Barkagaon, about 75 kilometers from Hazaribag. Authorities have arrested three suspects related to the attack. The fire was reported to police, who quickly sent fire brigade units to manage the situation. The police are also continuing their investigation into the unsolved murder of NTPC's deputy general manager, Kumar Gaurav, which took place on March 8 at a nearby coal mining project. Police believe that the recent attack may be connected to previous incidents linked to the TPC group. This includes a 2019 attack associated with a gangster named Aman Sahu, who was killed in a police encounter earlier this month. While no group has openly claimed responsibility for the fire, police suspect that Sahu’s followers may be involved. In August of last year, Rahul Singh, Sahu's second-in-command, was killed during a police operation. Authorities have filed a case at the Urimari Police Station and are actively searching for additional suspects.
