Eighty-one libraries in Ernakulam district have received new laptops, projectors, and sound systems. This initiative is part of a plan to bring modern technology to libraries for public use. Most of the libraries are small and aim to use the new equipment for meetings and events. Manoj Moothedan, the president of the district panchayat, spoke about the importance of well-equipped libraries. He believes they can help guide young people and encourage them to read. Moothedan emphasized that attracting youth to libraries is vital for society's growth. The distribution event took place on March 22, 2025, at the District Panchayat Hall. It marked the first phase of the technology upgrade. A second phase is set to finish in April. Library council members and the district panchayat's vice president, Elsie George, were present at the event.
