thehindu.com

An 18-year-old college student, N. Yadhav, was declared brain dead after a serious accident. The incident occurred on Pollachi Road, near Eachanari, in Erode district. He was first taken to a private hospital for emergency care and later moved to KMCH in Coimbatore for specialized treatment. Unfortunately, despite all efforts by medical staff, Yadhav was pronounced brain dead on Saturday. Yadhav's family made the brave decision to donate his organs. His father Nagarajan, mother Vijayalakshmi, and sister Monisha supported this choice during a difficult time. The organs were harvested by a team of transplant surgeons following guidelines from the Transplant Authority of Tamil Nadu. The donated organs included his liver and kidneys, which were successfully transplanted at KMCH. Additionally, his skin and bone were sent to a private hospital in Coimbatore for further use. This act of kindness has given a new lease of life to five people.
