techradar.com

Thousands of coffee enthusiasts are being urged to stop using certain espresso machines after serious safety concerns. These machines have been recalled due to reports of injuries, including burns and cuts. More than 12,000 Bella Pro Series and Cooks coffee machines have been affected. Eighteen users reported that parts of the machines exploded during use. Eight of these users suffered burns or lacerations because of the incidents. The espresso machines involved in this recall are the Bella Pro Series Steam Espresso Maker and the Cooks Steam Espresso Maker. They were sold at JCPenney and Best Buy from August 2023 to January 2025. The machines are made from black plastic with stainless steel trim and have “Bella Pro Series” or "Cooks" marked on the front. If you own one of these machines, you should check the model number on a sticker underneath. If your model is 90195 or 22395, you are advised to stop using it right away. To get a refund, you can call Sensio at 855-647-3125 or visit the Bella Kitchenware website. To process your refund, you'll need to cut the power cord and provide photos to show the machine is unusable. This guidance comes from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission to ensure customer safety.
