Etiwanda wins CIF Open Division championship again
As we near the Chipotle Nationals, the SCNext Top 25 rankings for high school girls' basketball have been updated. The list highlights the best teams and players as championship season wraps up. Etiwanda secured its third consecutive CIF Open Division title by defeating Archbishop Mitty on March 15. Arynn Finley, a rising star, scored 21 points to lead her team to victory. This win also marks the end of high school for McDonald's All-Americans Grace Knox and Aliyahna "Puff" Morris. In Colorado, UCLA-bound Sienna Betts helped Grandview clinch their third career 6A state championship. She made history by becoming the all-time leading rebounder in Colorado high school basketball. Maddyn Greenway shined with a remarkable 40-point game for Providence Academy, leading them to their fourth straight Class AA championship in Minnesota. Greenway, ranked 18th in the 2026 class, is committed to Kentucky. Brandie Harrod led Putnam City North to a 6A state championship. She has recently reopened her recruitment after a coaching change and is exploring options with schools like Florida State and Mississippi State. The updated rankings include 15 state champions, with 13 McDonald's All-Americans among them. The prestigious McDonald's All-American Game is scheduled for April 1 in Brooklyn. Fishers, Indiana will host the Chipotle Nationals from April 3-5. Top teams like Montverde, Westtown, and IMG will participate, with several elite players competing, including the No. 1 recruit Saniyah Hall. The games will be aired on ESPN networks.
