David Henry Miller, known as "Frog," died at age 76 on Saturday. He was a well-known figure in Eugene, selling his self-published joke books from the sidewalk since 1986.

Miller had symptoms of congestive heart failure and tested positive for COVID before his death. He moved to Eugene in 1981 and published 114 joke books filled with one-liners and cartoons.

Miller also made a legal impact by challenging a city law that ticketed him for selling books without a license. His case reached the Oregon Supreme Court, which ruled the law unconstitutional.
