Revenue officers across the country have seized drugs, contraband, and counterfeit goods valued at over €440,000. In recent operations, more than 16.5 kilograms of herbal cannabis were found, estimated to be worth around €331,200. Additional illicit drugs valued at over €18,250 were also seized in locations including Dublin, Rosslare Europort, and Shannon Airport. Detector dogs named Sam, Ciara, and Jasper helped uncover these items. Separately, authorities seized 23,200 cigarettes and 4.5 kilograms of tobacco. These goods, valued at nearly €23,500, arrived from various countries like the UK, US, and Canada. They were intended for delivery to addresses across Ireland. Moreover, 183 counterfeit items worth around €68,000 were confiscated. Some of these included fake branded goods from popular labels like Uggs, North Face, and Gucci. In addition, more than 76 litres of alcohol, valued at over €960, were seized in the midlands and at Rosslare Europort. Revenue also reported the seizure of various weapons, including stun guns and smoke bombs. Investigations into all these seizures are ongoing. Revenue urges anyone with information about smuggling to contact them confidentially.
