European airlines enhance luxury first-class services to Asia
Many airlines from Europe and Asia focus on luxury travel for their long-haul routes. These routes are key for passengers going to destinations like Australia and North America. The longest non-stop flights between Europe and Asia often exceed 6,000 miles. Here, we look at the first-class offerings on some of these lengthy routes. The longest non-stop route is from Amsterdam to Jakarta, measuring 7,054 miles. Garuda Indonesia is the only airline providing first class services on this route. They operate flights on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, offering eight first class suites with features like sliding doors for privacy, large screens, and comfortable flatbeds. First class passengers also enjoy special perks like limousine transfers and lounge access. Next is the route from London Heathrow to Singapore, at 6,764 miles. Three airlines—British Airways, Qantas, and Singapore Airlines—offer first class on this route. Qantas uses its Airbus A380 with 14 suites, while Singapore Airlines also operates both Boeing 777-300ERs and A380s with various first class configurations. British Airways offers first class on both the A380 and Boeing 777-300ER. The Paris to Singapore route covers 6,666 miles. Both Singapore Airlines and Air France provide first class services here, utilizing Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Air France’s first class, known as 'La Première,' features spacious suites and updated entertainment options. Malaysia Airlines is the sole carrier on the London to Kuala Lumpur route, which is 6,593 miles long. The airline operates its Airbus A350-900, providing four first class suites that convert to flatbeds. This route sees 62 round trips each month. Meanwhile, Malaysia Airlines also operates flights from Paris to Kuala Lumpur, at 6,492 miles, reviving a route after nine years. Their first class offerings are similar to those on the London route, emphasizing privacy and comfort. Finally, the route from Zurich to Singapore spans 6,405 miles. Both Singapore Airlines and Swiss International Air Lines offer first class on Boeing 777-300ERs. Swiss Airlines features eight front-row suites with direct aisle access for every passenger, enhancing comfort for long flights.
