European stocks decline, Italy's FTSE MIB hits worst
European stock markets ended lower today, with Italy's FTSE MIB seeing the largest decline. The UK's FTSE 100 fell slightly after the Bank of England decided to keep interest rates unchanged. At the close, Germany's DAX dropped 274.95 points, closing at 23,013.12, a decrease of 1.18%. France's CAC also fell, down 77.27 points or 0.95%, finishing at 8,094.21. The UK's FTSE 100 saw a minor loss of 4.67 points, ending at 8,702.00. Spain's Ibex decreased by 101.78 points, or 0.76%, to 13,306.31. Italy's FTSE MIB declined by 524.49 points, a drop of 1.32%, closing at 39,188.16. In the US, stock indices showed mixed results. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up by 73 points or 0.17%, at 42,035. The S&P 500 fell by 6.01 points, or 0.11%, to 5,669.55. The NASDAQ index dropped 41.91 points, or 0.24%, ending at 17,706. The Russell 2000 also decreased, by 3.55 points, or 0.17%, at 2,078.49. In the US debt market, yields were down slightly across various term lengths. The 2-year yield was at 3.963%, the 5-year at 4.010%, the 10-year at 4.231%, and the 30-year at 4.547%. In other markets, crude oil prices increased by $0.99, or 1.48%, to reach $67.90. Gold prices fell by $14.17, or 0.47%, settling at $3,034.67. Bitcoin saw a drop of $3,026, now at $83,842.
