Eva Longoria to receive PLATINO Honorary Award in Madrid

Eva Longoria will receive the Honorary PLATINO Award at the upcoming Platino Awards on April 27, 2025. The event is taking place at the Palacio Municipal IFEMA in Madrid. This award recognizes her significant contributions to television and film, as well as her efforts to improve Latin representation in Hollywood. Longoria is well-known for her roles in popular shows like Desperate Housewives and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. She is a Mexican-American actress, director, and producer. Her directorial debut with the film Flamin’ Hot was a huge success, becoming the most-watched streaming premiere for Searchlight Pictures. The film also received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song. In addition to her acting career, Longoria runs her production company, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment. Through this company, she has produced various projects, including the ABC series Grand Hotel. She has also focused on her cultural roots with CNN’s docuseries Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico and its upcoming follow-up, Searching for Spain. Beyond her work in entertainment, Longoria is a strong advocate for immigrant rights and women's empowerment. She has spent over 20 years breaking barriers in the industry and helping pave the way for other Latina storytellers. With this honor, she will join the ranks of past recipients like Benicio del Toro and Antonio Banderas. The Platino Awards aim to celebrate and promote Ibero-American cinema and culture. This year’s ceremony will include 23 awards and the prestigious Honorary PLATINO Award.
