Everett activist Percy Levy arrested on felony charges

Percy Levy, a 54-year-old community activist from Everett, has been arrested and is facing 11 felony charges related to drugs and firearms. He is currently being held on $1.5 million bail. This arrest follows a 16-month undercover investigation by the Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force. Levy was arrested last Thursday during a traffic stop in Everett. Authorities discovered a significant amount of illegal drugs at his home, including powder cocaine, rock cocaine, and a dangerous amount of fentanyl. They also found a loaded handgun. Jim Fuda from Crime Stoppers commented that Levy seems to have returned to old relationships and habits, which is concerning. In 2019, Levy received clemency from former Governor Jay Inslee after spending 17 years in prison for a robbery case. Since then, he has been active in community work. He serves on the board of Black Lives Matter Seattle-King County and works as a specialist for the Washington Defender Association, focusing on criminal justice reform. He also founded an auto business called Redemption Auto. Fredrick Bletson, a member of the Snohomish County Black Heritage Committee, expressed concern about granting second chances to individuals with troubling backgrounds. He believes that more careful consideration is needed when deciding who deserves such opportunities. The Washington Defender Association stated they know little about Levy's recent arrest but emphasized that he is presumed innocent and has the right to legal representation and a fair process.
