Excavation reveals historic stepwell Rani ki Bawdi in Sambhal, India

Excavation in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, has uncovered the historic stepwell known as Rani ki Bawdi. Authorities issued a notice to a nearby house owner to remove an encroachment affecting the excavation site. The executive officer stated that the house owner must only remove the encroaching part. A tin sheet will be placed over the stepwell to protect it from rain. Officials plan to identify and mark other encroachments. Those responsible will be notified to remove them, or demolition will follow.
