Experts deny David and Madison were initially matched

The reunion for season 18 of "Married at First Sight" is set to address some surprising rumors about two of the participants. In a preview shared by Us Weekly, Michelle questions the show's experts about the relationship between David and Madison. During the reunion, Michelle asks Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Cal Roberson, and Dr. Pia Goff if they had any prior knowledge of David and Madison's connection. Both Pastor Cal and Dr. Pia strongly deny any hints beforehand, stating they had no idea. In season 18, Michelle was initially paired with David, while Madison was paired with Allen. However, as the show progressed, David and Madison developed feelings for each other. In a previous episode, they announced they are still together and living together after one year. Michelle and Allen also confronted the experts about rumors suggesting that Madison and David were originally meant to be paired together. Pastor Cal dismissed these claims as "complete BS." Dr. Pia explained that match decisions were based on what the participants shared about themselves and acknowledged that race was sometimes a consideration in their pairings. Pastor Cal emphasized that marriage is not the right time for experimenting with new relationships. He believes that if a person has never dated someone of a different race, they should not be matched with someone outside their experience.
